Looking at Zipp’s website, I noticed that they refer to the fact that Powertap hubs are not available. Does anyone know the details? Production shortage? Problems with the product?

“I’ve seen a couple references to the PT-SL recall. I found no info on the Cycle-ops website. My PT-SL seems to work fine though I have not ridden in the rain and never near 90 F (I wish - maybe 30 F…). What are we supposed to do? I e-mailed Saris with questions.”
I have(had) a Zipp 404 built for me by Zipp with Power Tap SL hub. The hub, along with most of the SL hubs has a problem holding constant torque setting of zero. You have to repeatedly reset the torque to zero during a workout. Because of this Power Tap has stopped all production of SL hubs until they can solve the problem. If you have this problem with your SL hub call Power Tap and they will give you a return number and then once they receive your wheel they will send you a basic Pro Power Tap wheel as a loaner until they solve the problem and fix you wheel and get it back to you.
