I’m trying to decide whether to go with a 1080 or 808 rim for my PT race wheel. Anyone in the same boat? I know the easy answer is just to go with the deeper rim but wondering if anyone thought the recessed/hidden nipples on the 1080 wheel was enough of a hassle to go with the 808. Also, would be interested in any other arguments for the 808 instead of the 1080.
I wouldn’t be doing my own wrenching so not like I personally need access to the nipples for any wheel truing but it just sounds like it could be a potential hassle having to remove the tubies to access the nipples for any wheelwork vs. easy access on the 808. Yeah, should mention i’m referring specifically to the tubies not clinchers.
