Powertap help in PHX

I got a powertap from a friend and I haven’t been able to get it to work. The computer turns on and seems to function, but isn’t receiving anything. So I don’t know if I have a bad harness or if the hub is not working. I’ve changed the hub batteries 2x so far.

So, anyone got a setup so that I can test to see if my wheel and/or harness and/or computer is working?

thanks,
Ed

*Have you changed the battery in the computer unit? They are a battery hog so give that a try. *
If it’s an SL unit the antenna at the hub needs to be very close, if it’s a standard hub the antenna needs to be a bit farther away from the hub.
*I have an SL hub and a standard hub and I have to move the antenna back and forth when I change wheels. *
*And look for a kink in the wire it could be broken. *

I put a fresh battery in the cpu, and it turns on and seems to funciton ok. I actually got 2 different harnesses, which have both been pretty beat up and I have tested both. I’ve put the sensor in different locations with no luck. I think it is most likely that the harnesses are bad, but I don’t want to spend $70 on a new harness to find out that the hub is bad and the harness was OK.
