Yes. Supposedly most of the SL’s were sent back this year so they are pretty busy.
I am probably weird but I have multiple wheels so I don’t have to worry about this sort of problem.
Even if you had an SRM it has similar issues - you have to send it back every two years or so for a battery change.
In 7 years, I never sent my old SRM crank in once. I changed the battery myself for $10 and 30 mins labor. I also submerged the old crank several times. Don’t try that with a PT.
I have a 2005 SRM and I’m just quoting the manual. You changed the battery in the powercontrol and the CPU yourself? At the cost of this thing, I figure might as well have a pro take a look at the operation of the thing just in case, don’t ride this bike in the winter.
Just the crank battery. Changing the battery in the PCIV is a big ordeal. I still get an acceptable number of hours per charge will probably upgrade to the PCV in a few months anyway (I just upgraded to a pro crank).

I wouldn’t advise swimming with your bike on your back during the swim in order to save a few seconds in T2.
IMHO, Powertap/CycleOps/Saris/Graber is one of the great companies in the bike industry. If I’ve ever had a problem with my powertap or cycleops or saris racks, they have taken care of it as quickly as possible.
So if they say they are working on it, I’d beleive them. Maybe they are waiting on some back ordered component.
