Powertap CPU Battery ?....I know-I know I am lazy

I have the Powertap Pro Computer and the battery is getting low (keeps flashing when I clear data that battery is low). I havent taken apart yet to look at the battery, but is it a standard battery I can buy at a retail store, or something that has to be bought from Cycleops??

I know I could go check the cycleops website…but this CPU is very slow, and I am already signed in here so I figured I would ask.**

I have the 2.4 and it uses a normal watch battery. I think it’s like a CR205 or 215. something like that.

RULE…thanks…I guess the next step would be get up and go check it out.

No, I think the CPU uses a CR2032 battery – they are what is used in LOTS of stuff like this.

Does it actually say low battery? Mine kinda goes dim when I clear it but doesn’t say low battery. Not sure if I need to change it or not.

It will do that for a while, then eventually start to say low batt when you clear it, then it will just stop eventually. I have pushed mine to the limit several times.

Yes, it’s a CR2032. BZ, just take the battery out and bring it to the store with you to be sure.

Thanks, Chris

Why wait until it gets low or goes out during a sweet ride? Change it every year. Same with HRM’s.
