Powercranks weight?

Just wondered how much do the Powercranks X-lite weight? Any idea?

Plus, does the lock-up mechanism eliminate clutch slippage issues when, er, locked-up?

I mean, if the pair is light enough, and if no slippage may occur when locked up, one could see the x-lite lock-up version as a do it all ( I mean training + races) version…

Bump. Any PCers out there? Frank?

They weight varies a little depending upon the BB version and crank type you get. It is lighter that regular PowerCranks by about 350 grams, getting down to about 2.5 lbs, but still heavier than most other “racing” cranks. The lock-up version is a little heavier.

The lock-up version does turn them into a one crank does all type of thing except for the fact our current lock-up version is not as strong as regular cranks (you can’t bunny hop, etc and expect it to hold) and are only designed to help you get home in case of HF failure or physical therapy applications to do passive range of motion. We are working on that and expect to have a stronger version out soon that will be as strong as regular cranks. If you get the current l/u version we will upgrade you for free, if you desire, when it is available. Not everyone will want the “upgrade” as it is going to be somewhat heavier.

Thank you Frank for your prompt and detailed answer.
