If you will remember I had a contest associated with IM Hawaii to guess closest to Nic Sacco’s bike split, who was the first pro to do the race on PowerCranks. The closest guess would win a pair of basic PC’s. In Kona we also added a NeverReach hydration system for second place and a Sub17 tee shirt for third. Nic’s time was 5:34:53.

3rd at 5.36.00 was Bonnie Sander

Frank, actually, better luck to Nick next time. I’m sure that was not one of his best days given the other great races he had leading up to Hawaii. Then again, he finished, which alone was tough on such a difficult day.

Yeh, he said he felt just awful all day until there was about 10 k left on the run when his legs “woke up” and he finished at a 6:30 pace. He doesn’t have a clue as to what happened.
He is a little concerned about doing another IM so close to Hawaii but he had a long conversation with Olaf about how to recover for such an effort. i think he will be ok.
