Power Tap and disk cover

Does anyone have any suggestions on attaching a disk cover over a powertap wheel, specifically around the hub area?

I just brought my bike to the shop for a tune-up and to be broken down for shipping for Ironman Arizona. I told the mechanic to put the cover on and he is a little worried about getting a good seal around the hub area.

Why would one need a perfect seal? The little hole for inflating tires in real disk wheels probably offers more resistance than an imperfect seal on the wheel cover.

Are you talking about CH Aero? I would never put the cover on without actually putting it on the bike to test the brake pad clearance first. You should probably also practice putting it on in case the cover slips during shipment and you find you need to adjust it when you get to the race.

If you want, I believe the guy at wheelbuilder.com can cut the cover for you. Also, you could make your own out of Mylar if you were so inclined.

If you want, someone else on the board is selling custom carbon disk covers made to order.

There was just a thread about a wheel cover for your powertap maybe just last week. Search “Dynamis carbon disc wheel-cover” or go to www.ltcycles.com

I don’t have a powertap but if I were to get one I would use these guys and there cover.
