.
- Basso
- Ullrich
- Cunego
Others in the top 10: Vino, Popovych, Valverde, Evans.
The battle of the year is gonna be Cunego v. Basso v. Simoni at the Giro though.
I’m placing my bets on Luke Armstrong, pulling ahead of Ullrich by 67 seconds.
Wait to see what the course looks like when it’s published. Mountains & lots of uphill finishes, and I think it’s Basso over Ullrich. On a course like this year’s for next year, I’d play safe and bet on Jan.
Valverde’s my wild card. I could see him upsetting things
ahhh that’s good

it would make a lot more sense to at least wait to see where most of the contenders end up next year…
Ulrich, after being dropped by T-Mobile, joins back up with Bjarne Reise, who was his team leader in '97,at CSC and wins another tour.
I’d love to see this but he’d have to break his T-mobile contract…unlikely…unless Basso goes to Disco, unlikely too as his contact runs for 1 or 2 more years.
I believe Basso extended with CSC for three years.
well that settles Ullrich going to CSC for good then
.
Anyone else notice Vino pointing to his jersey, then at Lance’s, after the race today? That guy wants on Disco bad… If they take him, he stands an excellent chance of taking it all.
Basso is clearly the one to beat in the mountains, but the boy needs to TT. I still think that if he were on Disco he could win, but since he is staying with CSC, I would guess the odds are maybe 3 in 10 that he beats the Disco GC man next year - no matter who it is.
Wonder if Disco would consider Ullrich… Hmmm…
- Ullrich
- Basso
- Vino
I think Ullrich would have been 2nd this year if the ‘normal’ format of Prologue, TT, TT had been followed.
Another question could be; Who is Vino going to ride for next year?
Hello,
With Johan B publicly saying that Vino doesn’t have what it takes to win the tour and they want to sign a winner I’m thinking no Disco Vino.
Styrrell
Yeah, Johan said that a couple weeks ago, and I think Vino’s performance on Sunday was a direct response to it.
He may not end up on Disco, but it would not be for his lack of trying. That was an amazing move yesterday - simply amazing.
1.Tyler
2 Basso
3.Zabriske

I don’t think Vino would be happy on Disco unless he was the boss, because if had to work for the Disco leader there would be no more attacking like he did this year.
