On Thursay I had a left knee partial medial meniscus surgery… I dont seem to be in any pain except where the incisions were on my knee and even that is very little pain… I seem to be healing at a rapid pace and have pretty much put aside the crutches and have been moving on my own around the house.
Should I continue to use the crutches till I see my surgeon on Friday or should I start walking on my own power?
What did your doctor tell you to do?
Ice to area for 2 days for 15-20 each hour. Weight bearing as tolerated using crutches…
Obviously the crutches are there in case you do something stupid that prolongs healing or causes more damage to the area. If you want to risk it, then you can leave the crutches at home.
When I had my ACL and MCL repaired last year, I used crutches for a week. One crutching it was difficult so I just walked instead.
Sounds like you can touch down, if you feel like it, as long as you use the crutches. I’d say do that until your follow up.
Sham - this is just a guess but perhaps following the post operative orders from the physician who did the surgery, saw exactly what occured during the surgery to your knee, would give a more reliable outcome than participants on an internet forum.
