Post arthroscopic knee pain

10 day s out from having my right knee scoped thye did a menisectomy and a chondorplasty (where they grind the top of the tibia) as i had some cracking, and pre arthritic stuff going on. Pre surgery the symptoms were a feeling that my knee was going to lock, buckle along with a sharp pain. tried treating it with PT for 10 weeks and then got surgery. immediatley after surgery it felt fine with some swelling , started pt 3 days out although they want me on crutces for 3 weeks which I have not been 100% compliant with( I have a job and a 6 yr old whom i raise alone) at any rate over the weekend the knee swelled up, felt hot and I began to get the locking buckling thing going again I have been icing the hell out of it but this buckling thing has got me scared. Has anyone had similar experiences?

Not sure if this is similar, but I had a locking/buckling problem pre knee surgery 4 yrs ago. The doc associated it with my knee cap not tracking properly, thus leaving a space for the inflamed Plica band (medial) to catch and caused my knee to buckle or give out. I had a lateral release (which I would not recommend) and also had ‘crap’ scraped off the back of the knee cap and the plica cut away. No more buckling, but I still can’t run either…
good luck with that! Ice is your friend.
