Nuyorican Soul featuring Jocelyn Brown cover of I am the Black Gold of the Sun by Rotary Connection. Going for the 4hero rmx. MAW remix also great featuring Q Tip.
Just pre-ordered this.. seems like a solid collection of duet covers.

Jimmy Barnes and an Australian-Samoan rap group, covering Phil Collins.. and it works pretty well.
That’s a roller skating jam. Love it.
I had read this post back in ‘21 and started listening to Leonid and Friends on Youtube while on the trainer and really enjoyed their sound and story.
Fast Forward to last night and I saw them live, front row, sitting right in front of the horns. Great performance and awesome sound! Highly recommend seeing them if they are in your area.
That sounds like it was a ton of fun. checked their tour schedule and not near me this fall or next spring. But, I’ll keep a look out. thanks!
This feels like a scene from The Matrix where a small band of black pillers holdd on with a death grip to the real shit. It gives me hope for the future.
Musically it works beautifully, as so many well constructed songs that cross effortlessly among genres.
The original is greatness. This elevates it even higher.
Don’t know if this has been mentioned but Jack Black’s version of the Chris Isaak song is pretty damn good.
