Position testing on my own. how to?

i have two postions that i am a bit unsure which to pick on the bike. through playing around, these are the two i can comfortably ride in for the distances i race (nothing over 40k).

I have some very flat, straight roads,
i have a trainer,
i have a SRM

new HR strap will be here before its nice enough to ride outside (hopefully).

how would you go about this?

for what its worth the two diff pos would require a stem switch and saddle movement.
one is a bit lower, with the saddle a bit futher back (still pretty far forward)
the other is not quite as low, all the way forward, and stem further out. will get photos when i can.

Besides going to the wind tunnel? Do you live near a velodrome? A velodrome is a good place to do field testing but if you don’t have one nearby, there is a thread over on the biketechreview.com forum that is all about how to do field testing on a road course.

  1. Do a static calibration check on your SRM.
  2. Either do “CdA field test classic” or else the method discussed in the “Something borrowed…something fast” thread.
