Poser? (1)

CSC team jersey

LOOK 486 with Campy and ZIPP 606.

On a 1.2 mile loop. Never over 15MPH for 10 miles. Packed up, went home.

Is that a joke?

That’s what the speed limit was, I didn’t want to get a ticket!

Why don’t you guys just go kick his ass if it bothers you so much that he shouldn’t be riding that setup because he’s not going fast enough for you.

Instead of coming out here and being beating him down on the internet, just ride up to him, and introduce yourself and ask him to pull over and tell him you are going to kick his ass.

Just go do it.

Maybe he was out on a recovery ride just spinning the legs out after a hard 3 week training cycle. Maybe he was nursing or recovering from an injury? Maybe you could have said hello?

Booth! Where ya been, bro? I’ve missed your pointless yet absolutely hilarious rants…

how do you know he was never over 15MPH, were you trying to hold his wheel?

Maybe he’s tapering, or doing a race this weekend, you dolt. You know, prior to actually doing a race it’s a decent idea to go out on your race rig to make sure everything’s working ok.

I don’t get why you give a shit about what someone else is doing. Are you that insecure?

Why were you so worried with his speed, distance and setup?

Who cares what kind of bike someone has or what they are wearing or what speed they are going or how fast they are going…just be happy they are riding.

I think “poser” is the right word…for anyone worried about this stuff.

Why is everyone assuming anonymo isn’t talking about himself?

It must be nice being a real athlete. You and record should start a club where you could look down on others.

The guy could have been run over by a truck and recovering for years. This could have been his first ride on his replacement bike and a great milestone on his road to recovery. Metal pins in healing bones, painful scar tissue stretching with every pedal stroke. Quite possibly, the best day of his life post traumatic near death crash. But, if it make you feel better to call him a Poser on an internet forum, good for you.

Dave

Why is everyone assuming anonymo isn’t talking about himself?

I thought he was, that’s whyhe was anonymo.

Well said.

Taking the bait… that’s a lot of bike and gear for that level of riding.

The real answer… who cares? So long as you have the money and you’re not spending money that would otherwise be used for something useful (i.e. paying off debt, putting kids through school, etc), by all means get whatever you want.

Poser, noun, Definition: Someone so consumed with appearances that on a training ride he takes the time to check out some guy’s clothes, bike, wheels and components and then takes the time to post all that information.

And, dude, did you ever catch up to him? And while he was packing up what were you doing? Catching your breath on the side of the road?

You have to be more specific about my pointlessness. It is omnipresent, hourly. Just recently at 2:30 this morning, I was out running intervals at pitch dark at a local track. On the sixth 880, I got a sudden bout of what most likely was pre-eminent diarrhea, which forced me to cut one of my laps off, but then run up a mile of football stadium stairs to one of the most nastiest bathrooms I have ever seen. I was lucky to make it. Abandoned truck stop bathrooms would look like the Taj Mahal compared to this crap lagoon.

As I sat there, barely making it to the stool, wondering if I would come down with trenchfoot or Ebola or Typhoid Fever, I quickly looked at my HRM and it said 189: my Max! Got through and ran the second lap of the 880, keeping the whole ordeal at 90% anaerobic threshold, through the whole experience.

Good workout. Finished at 4. 2 hours of sleep.

That right there is dedication Khai.

That right there, is information I could have gone my whole life without hearing.

I love you man…

Now let me clarify this…your bowl movement required so much effort you were able to stay Aerobic…that is quite a challange indeed…victory is yours.
