Poor mans Vasa trainer

Is anyone using a Total Gym as a poor mans Vasa trainer?? I have one sitting in my garage and thought it might work.

Those things are great, i have two of them i bought at garage sales for $10 each. Use the incline to adjust the weight you pull, keep your elbows high, and it is the virtual vasa trainer…

That’s not a bad idea actually if you can rig up some paddles! Oh man I remember the day we unpacked the TG when it was first release. Bright shiny chrome awesomeness! Of course it won’t be quite as tri approved without power readouts. I mean how can you expect to swim fast w/o power data!

I’d love to see a picture of how you rig this up
.

This is an excellent point. So many years wasted swimming w/o data. I need to find out which powermeter Ledecky is using and buy one for each pool. And not that left-arm only junk. -J

Poor man’s vasa trainer is called a lake.

Rich man’s vasa trainer is a lap pool.

Get cheap swim paddles (ie. Sporti) and get some extra resistance band cabling. I hook my paddles onto resistance bands already and will be getting a TG soon. Woo!
