Why don’t you send the helmet back, get a refund then buy the helmet at the other store.
Your story hardly seems post worthy let alone a bigdeal. Hmmm… no pun intended.

From their website:
**Prices will not be matched with online auctioneers, used products, non-authorized dealers, or dealers who have lost their dealership. Some additional restrictions may apply. Please contact us prior to purchase for a price match opportunity. **** **** Did you meet all the criteria? The bottom line is that you misread the terms on their site. It clearly states that you must contact them before purchase in order to get a price match and not after the sale. You are thinking Circuit City and not a triathlon store. I think you are making a big deal out of nothing. And just for comparison, here is what Circuit City states: Find a lower advertised price from another local store with the same item in stock, and we’ll gladly beat their price by 10% of the difference. Plus, if you see a lower advertised price within 30 days of your purchase with us, we’ll refund 100% of the difference.
No where does R&A state that they have a price guarantee. Price matching and price guarantee are two distinct different things.
Sounds like you bought the thing before you did research. This is always a bad idea, no matter how good of a reputation the retailer has.

Hi all, I’m sure some will flame me for posting this, and heck, the thread may even be pulled from the site, but I feel compelled to reach as many as I can as fast as I can.
This past weekend I purchased a couple of items from R&A Cycles, among which was a Giro Advantage 2 helmet. I received it yesterday, no problem, my earlobes seem to not be covered by the bottom of the ear cover things so today I decide to try and google for some pics of other people wearing the helmet (maybe I’m not alone right?). Anyway, I stumble upon a reputable website which sells the helmet for $124.99. I just paid $150 at R&A so I go to the R&A site to see if there’s some kind of price guarantee, which there is. Or at least that’s what the site says. Anyway, I call R&A to try to get $25 back and the first person who answered the phone literally said, ‘Who, me? I ain’t gonna give you no refund’. Fortunately, he then told me he’d get someone who could help me out. The second person, whose name I didn’t catch, told me they don’t do price matching PERIOD and I could send it back.
Really? You’re knocking R&A for a $25 mistake that you made? I don’t see how that relates in any way to their customer service, and I’ve heard nothing but positive comments regarding their service in getting customers on the right bike (size and model). Maybe you shouldn’t be so quick to judge, as next time you could be the in-store customer whose fit session is interrupted by someone calling for a $2 refund on handlebar tape.
Roll on,
Jake
