I’m travelling for work this week and need to get some laps in. Does anyone know any good pools near the downtown area that’s open for lap swimming Friday night?
check out http://www.swimmersguide.com/query/Main1.cfm. It tells you where any pools are in the world, maps, phone numbers, rates, pool types, etc. etc. etc. I use it when I travel and have found 3 pools I use regularly.

There is a pool at Westside Athletic Club off of Broadway and Colombia in the Koll Center. Great view from up there. Also if you have the time Coronado’s new pool is great both are $5.
I’m serious. I have never seen it but I have a friend that spent the summer there and says there is a group that has regular swims there.
There’s a Pure Fitness downtown that appears to have a pool.
Form a quick perusal of their website, you can download a free 7 day pass, but it may only be good at the new C’bad location, and you may need to be a local. You could call them to see if they have guest memberships.
Otherwise, there are 24Hour fitness gyms scattered around that have pools, some of which are accessible via the trolley.
Help us out here…do you have a car? do you belong to any gyms?
If your downtown SD, take a trip over the bridge or take the ferry to Coronado and check out their brandy new state of the art 30 million dollar swimming complex…Its damn nice!
Or you could just go jump in the bay down at spanish landing where the start of the SD international is…Water is toasty warm…

In town Friday? Tri Club of San Diego has an ocean swim at La Jolla Cove, followed by the monthly potluck dinner. Visitors are always welcome. The Cove is a great place for a swim, with bouys marking the various distances. I’ll be there, doing the 2-mile route.
coronado masters - new 50 meter x 10 lane pool, great coach, high speed pro to beginner friendly, 6:15-7:30pm … and, if you are nice, the locals might invite you to the coronado brewing company after the workout for some re-fueling.
