Going to be at mandalay bay this week. Suggestions?
Multi Gen center in Green Valley(outdoor) or Desert Breeze(indoor)455-7798. Masters at both,5:30-7:00 am M-F at Desert Breeze wit $3 drop in fee. Not sure when the Green Valley Masters swim, but Frank Lowery who puts on Silverman runs that. Probably can find a link to him on Silverman websight.
I swam at Desert Breeze with the Masters class and it was a good session. The pool is nice and so is the coach. I hope you’re a swimmer because that crew was pretty hardcore. ![]()

Desert Breeze is a 20-25 minute drive from the Mandalay.

You can swim reasonable “laps” at the wave pool in MB. Each time I was there there were 2-3 people doing just that. It’s more than 25M across, and having to deal with the “wave” every 90 sec. makes for an interesting, open water feel. It’s not a masters workout, but you can log some yardage, and use the 90sec. wave interval as a timer.

But the water is a little warm and they don’t like you holding the wall.

Swimming in the wave pool is great but its not open this time of year.

You can swim laps over at the pool near the cabanas. OR you can swim against the current in the river pool.
Mirage has an outdoor lap pool. Myself I just got to one of the 24 hour fitness that have pools when I’m in town.
Sure would be neat if they’s allow lap swimming at belagio in the water fountains.
Always thought that would be a good place to have a grand prix style triathlon double loop swim in the fountain then bike loops around the strip and run same.
Club Sport over by Green Valley (Henderson) has a nice outdoor pool, never crowded when I have been there on business. My local club sport has reciprical membership privledges so it’s free to go for me. Look into privledges from your club, if you blong to one at home. They are in some form of a group that shares memberships and gives discounts to other clubs memebers, not just Club Sport.
