Have a friend who is traveling to Destin, FL and wants to find a pool to swim laps in, not the pool at the local condo. Any suggestions?
Bluewater Bay is the best place that is close. They have multiple pools and usually always have an open swim pool available. Though not in Destin proper, it is just across the Mid-Bay Bridge and is heated and outdoors.

I’d say call and see what they have in terms of day/week passes.
If he’s actually on the east to central end of the Beaches of South Walton area, I’d say go for Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach

We’re members at Bluewater Bay, and I’d say the Destin Y would be my first choice for a day or week pass. Daily rate for Bluewater is something of a rip off even before you get into bridge tolls ($5 round trip if you don’t have a Sun Pass), and Woodlands (nicer pool than Bay Drive pool with a better set-up for lap swimming) isn’t officially open yet for the spring.
Unless you talk to someone at Bluewater Barracudas and they’ll let you do some guest swims with their adult group for cheap, and I think they’re using Woodlands right now, in which case I’d say venture north of the bridge.
