I am traveling to visit my family in The Villages, FL (near Lady Lake) and Ocala, FL over the xmas/new years week. Do any of you know of a decent lap pool (yd or m, doesn’t matter) that I can swim in? I’m not adverse to paying to use it, but would prefer something that I didn’t have to “join” in order to use a couple of times.
The Villages itself looks like it has a ridiculous amount of amenities, but the websites I am seeing do not definitively tell me if their lap pool (outdoor!) is open this time of year. If anyone has information on that, it would be appreciated.
Just worked the Fl. State Sr. Games last weekend, the Villages had a large contingent of swimmers in the competition. So I would be pretty certain their pool(s) are open. Now who can swim there thats another thing.
I am in the Villages every week. I wanna say there are about 50 pools there and about 10 for lap swimming. There are also 3 hour rides 20-22 mph rides. Perfect for LSD. I am 35 minutes south in clermont.
My Mom lives in The Villages and basically every pool has lap lanes. There are some pools reserved for “grandchildren”, so just make sure to not go to one of those or you will be inundated with kids. And you need a “guest pass” to get into the pool. My Mom always gets one for me when I visit, so it shouldn’t be a big deal.
