For those thinking about buying a HRM, just wanted to let you know about how great Polar’s customer service is. Two weeks ago I sent my new S720i because to Polar because, after a swim in the ocean, the watch just went crazy with all the numbers flashing randomly, then beeping non-stop before going totally blank. I don’t remember pressing any buttons under water or hitting it against something. I then had my LBS send the unit to polar to see what had happened.
Today, I just got a totally new watch no questions asked.
Just another satisfied customer.
Sounds to me like you had a faulty watch.
I just went through hell with Polar’s UK Distributor. I had to write to the main shareholder in the company to get some satisfaction. My S720i is my third Polar and probably my last.

I had a problem with my transmitter belt failing after a week, my LBS replaced it then and there and have had no issues since. Have had issues with the speed sensor as I cannot get it to register on a 60cm bike with Tri bars, Cadence worked great though. Asked Polar for advice on speed sensor but made no diffrence.
Have you try to change the power output of the speed sensor?
How do you go about changing the power output?
