Perhaps this is a known to many of you, have you ever heard that you should not wear polarized lenses while you ride…
Allegedly, they reduce glare so much that you wouldn’t see a puddle or slick surface and go careening to your death. Dunno if this is true. That’s just what they told us to tell customers when I worked at Sunglass Hut to discourage them from buying polarized lenses for driving. The tactic was to get them to buy a pair of regular Revo’s for driving and a pair of polarized Revo’s for when they’re near water.
I love my polarized Rudy Projects. The less glare I’m dealing with after hours on the bike, the happier I am. The only downside I’ve ever observed is that it is harder to just glance at my watch and/or bike computer. I have to look at them straight on.
rode with non-polarized for several years because of the stories like those that Bucky mentions. But I’ve been riding with polarized for two years now, actually prefer it, and have not had any issues.
Nonsense! The main problem you might have with polarized lenses while riding is seeing your bike computer or watch. If the polarization of the specs and the watch / cmptr are perpendicular to each other, you won’t be able to see the display. In other words, if your cmptr is mounted sideways you may have a problem seeing it.

I just got my first pair of polarized lenses and then the guy in my local bike shop told me that is was a really bad idea to ride with them… I do notice a difference, but not in depth perception. I just want to make sure that I am not being unsafe in some way by riding with them.
All I ever wear is polarized glasses. Have for about 10 years. For driving, biking, etc. Life is better with them because you “can” actually see the glares on the road. Overcast days are great because your not squinting.
I just got a new pair from Tifosi they are called the Scato with a polarized fototec lens. These things rock.
