Hey Slowtwitchers, just doing a bit of market research. I work at a specialty running store in Hawaii as all the Hawaii STers know. We’ve been selling the lights out of the new Polar RS200sd and RS100 heart rate monitors lately. I have a RS200sd in red and love it, think it’s the best running watch polar has ever made and probably the best on the market bar none, at least within the HR monitor market.
Thing is, I train with small group and three of us have RS200sd watches. One person had hers freeze and none of the buttons worked so we sent it back and got her new one. Then two weeks later it did it again. I talked to Polar found that you can reset them by pushing and holding all the buttons at once. After that you’ll probably have to hit the red start button twice just like with a brand new watch. This worked for her watch no problem. So this was a week ago and yesterday as I’m racing Xterra Tahoe my watch dies in the last 10 min of the run. Just goes blank. I was later able to reset it but this is kinda getting me curious. Anyone else out there with any problems with this watch? It’s an easy fix when it happens but shouldn’t be happening. Not trying to flame Polar or this watch at all, I’m still going to reccomend them to people but I am going to mention how to reset the watch as it’s not in the manual. I’m still using mine every day and love it.
I’ve problems with the foot-pod. Polar already changed my watch and the foot-pod, but still there are problems. On a run of 6km, the signal disappers more than six times. I’ve tried other batteries, but still the problem is there. Anyone with the same problem?
I’ve had it happen three different times. I had to reset time and date etc. The manual tells you about holding all 4 buttons for 2 sec. so I just did that. Not a big deal but it did happen mid workout last time and I wasn’t thrilled.
Mine crapped out while I was doing my last swim the day before Ironman Canada!
Fortunately I got all the settings restored and it worked on race day and ever since.
I believe it’s the first batch of watches produced (where else) in China. The butons seem a bit dodgy, but I like the slimmer face and the functions are cool.
When is the logging software for this model going to be ready, though?
