From the article:
“The data is sent to the Polar RS 800™ wrist-mounted running computer, which easily displays and records all information in real time. Simply put, your shirt talks to your running computer.”
haha… wrist mounted running computer… commonly known as a “watch”
I like the idea of having a place in the sole of the shoe for the foot pod transmitter. It would probably help the accuracy.
I wonder how tight fitting you have to get the shirts for the Wear Link to work?
The tight fitting are only available in female shirts.
And the female shirts are white and see thru for “better transmission”
.
The shirt is just an oversized strap.
And the footpod: – from the website it looks like the footpod goes into a cavity on the arch of the shoe, perhaps only on that specific model of Addidas shoe…
So, in order to have the whole system work, you gotta like that specific model of Addidas shoe… If you buy the whole system, and don’t like the shoe, then you’ll have no place for the footpod. If you like the system, then you’re “stuck” buying that Addidas shoe.
bad idea, this will go away like the heavliy promoted Nokia 5140 interface from 2 years ago…
Does Polar ever talk to their customers and ask them what they want? I mean, of all the things Polar could have done to improve their product, who asked for this?
