Looking at the Polar website, it seems to indicate that the speed/cadence sensors for the cycling units (e.g. cs200cad) need to be mounted on the front fork to transmit correctly. I end up doing a good deal of riding on a trainer (Kurt Kinetic), so a computer with sensors on the front wheel is pretty much useless.
Is there any way to make the Polar units work off the back wheel so that they provide info on the trainer?
With my CS200 the computer has to be placed on the top tube, the range is very short.
With the CS600 the range is a lot longer, and back wheel is not a problem.
most of the new 2.4Ghz digital computers from any company seem to work from the back wheel.
We used to have “O” rings for the handlebar mount and speed sensors instead of ZIPP ties. I would suggest for indoor riding “o” ring the speed to the rear chain stay near the rear brake and move the CS200 on the top tube until it picks up the signal. This should take all of 5 minutes with the O-ring. The speed sensor has about 1.5ft of transmission.
