Polar/Garmin/Suuto for pace and distance

Been a Polar user for years, gave up on the footpod calibration/inaccuracy issues on the Polar 625, which was less of an issue while training for IM. Now training with a marathon focus using the FIRST plan, which emphasizes pace per mile.

As the Polar is now several years old and in need of service, thinking about replacing it. Looking for advice on going with the Garmin 305, the Suunto t4, or staying with the Polar 625.

Which of these is goin to give me the most accurate pace per mile and distance?

If Garmin is highly recommended, how about the chest strap vs. Polar, as I do like the newer ones.
