I was wondering if anyone would know if the Polar CS Wind Speed and Cadence sensors are considered consumeables in that when the battery is dead are you supposed to toss them and buy new ones or does Polar replace the batteries for you. They are pretty expensive and it’s a shame that you can’t replace the battery yourself. Thanks in Advance.
The CS WIND speed and cadence sensors are sealed units - The battery should last about 2500 hours of actual use and are covered completely under warranty for 2 years.
So basically if the battery dies within 2 years we will give you brand new sensors for free.
If the battery dies after the 2 year warranty we will give you a brand new sensor for $20.00. That’s more than a 60% discount.
G’day Chris
Thanks for the info much appreciated.
I do find that they last a long time even with winter use. I’m very appreciative that there is a discount for after warranty replacement since they would be expensive to buy new. I’m really, really looking forward for the Cs600X to be available here in Canada, I’m currently using the Cs600 and the Rs800Cx at the same time to get the same cycling functionality.
