I have a Polar 720i monitor and need to replace the chest strap. The metal contacts on the original have corroded from use. Has anyone had the same issue? Looks like the T31 coded wearlink is the right one but I’m not sure. The watch doesn’t have a ‘learning’ function so I don’t know if replacing the strap is possible.
I have a many years old 720i and I’m on my 3rd HR strap. It’ll work just fine.
Why don’t you just clean the contacts?
Is it different than the T31?

Either transmitter belt will work, T31 coded or the Wear Link. The coded t-belts hold numerous codes and randomly select one and send it out, The watch is listening for the complete spectrum of codes, when it hears the one that is picked, the watch locks into the code. It sounds like you already have a Wear Link since you mentioned metal contacts. The wear link will last longer if take off that piece and let it dry out
