Polar 625x (2)

So I’ve been coveting this thing for awhile. I already have a polar s150 that I bought before I was really into tri. Now I want the running data and the possibility of wireless speed and cadence (and power) reaally interests me. I know I can get one for $260 on ebay. Is it worth the investment those of you that have one???

My experience has been that the footpod technology is not very accurate. Mine has varied as much as 17%, and there’s a 10% difference between wearing it on my left shoe vs. wearing it on my right. I’d go with the S720i for cycling, and use a GPS-based system like the Garmin for running data.

Also, the S625X doesn’t have auto-start-and-stop for cycling, whereas the S720i does.

I love my 625 but I find that I mainly use it on the bike and I’m thinking now of just buying a Polar bike computer and then one of the new Polar running watches, maybe the footpod version and using that combo instead. The 625 has features, especially interval training features, up the wazoo but I basically just look at my HR, climbing, use the standard cycing functions and calorie counter.

If you want an all in one watch I’d get the S720 or the S625 if you are interested in the run speed data. My 625 might be for sale soon.
