Pls tell me this exists for finding new running shoes

There has to be a site somewhere where I put in my running shoe model and it spits out other brands etc that are similar…right?

The issue…for years I have been wearing the NB Foam Runner 1080 v10. They are on v12…I tried V11 and they were nowhere close to v10 as far as fit. It is getting harder and harder to find v10 so it may be time to branch out.

Help!!!

You are basically asking for the most common shoe on the market - a neutral daily trainer.
The trend last few years is that they get more and more cushion, think triump from saucony, or asics novablast. The NB 1080v12 also got a big cushion boost. So we need to know if you want to avoid this and have something firmer or it was only the fit issue on the v11.
But other than that, google and read reviews, most reviews will list alternatives/similar shoes from other brands

I basically want the exact same shoe

I know the real answer is to go to the actual local running store and try on 20 pairs…lol
.

try going to solereview.com

I found that site randomly years ago and check it out every once in a while to see how the new models are rated. You might even try googling
"_______ shoe and “solereview”.

Not exactly what you are looking for, but Running Warehouse has a ‘How it Fits’ description for Size, Heel, Midfoot and Toe Box for some models. Might be able to compare fit that way? Not perfect, but could be a starting point.

Found an review of the v10. Unfortunately, it looks like they have since changed their fit parameters and descriptors.

V12 big improvement over v11 with big discounts now.

What I would want to see is a website that tells me the toe box in this shoe size is Xcm wide, the show is Y cm long, etc.

I’m 7 in some brands and 8 is too tight in others. The online reviews are only marginally helpful. Just give me the numbers.
If that exists lmk!

Years ago there was a company named Shoeftr that laser scanned shoe interiors and had a service that online retailers used so you could compare a shoe to other sizes, models and model years. It was fantastic because they had an extensive database of running shoes and you could very clearly see in 3D how two shoe fits compared with each other. Then in 2015 Amazon bought the company and shut it all down.

Agreed. The v11 toe box was way bigger than the ten.

it shouldn’t need a third party to help with sizing. imagine if every tyre manufacturer estimated their own sizing instead of using ISO/ETRTO

i’d like to see some proper standards in sizing. eg instead of buying a shoe given a randomly chosen size of “8” you buy a 28cm shoe and that is the effective internal length. it comes with a stated toe box width of Xcm at the widest point, again internal effective dimensions.

there is so much inconsistency even within shoes from a single brand, its ridiculous. for anyone living anywhere other than a major EU/US city, you often have no choice but to buy online and guess since you don’t have local stockists to try on at.
