I am so psyched…I get to order a new road bike today. I am getting a Litespeed Tuscany. My only issue I keep agonizing over is whether get complete bike (see http://www.coloradocyclist.com/common/products/productdisplay2_v2.cfm?PRRFNBR=36889&CGRFNBR=273&CRPCGNBR=273&CI=1,223,273&TextMode=0) or just get a frameset and build it up with parts of my choosing. I can get the complete bike for around $3300 or frameset for $1800. Does this build kit seem ok? I am having to order via web since there is no local Litespeed dealer where I live.
The built up bike is Ultegra 10 which is as nice as I need. The only downside is the 53/39 crankset. I would really like a compact crankset but the integrated BB design of U10 sounds pretty nice as well. Maybe later I could move the 53/39 to my tri bike and get compact crankset once they design one for the new integrated BB? Built up bike also comes with wheelset I am not that familiar with (Real Design ULtra-Fly) so a little nervous about those.
I am going to sell my old Kestrel 200 so I can either strip off Ultegra 9 off it and put on Tuscany or sell it as complete bike. Which approach nets the most of E-Bay?
Would it be stupid to buy new frame and put old Ultegra 9 parts and on it along with some older Mavic Open/Ultegra hub wheels? What would it cost to build up bike from frame set anyway?
Sorry for ramble…thanks for comments/opinions!
Mike
