These are my top picks for racing on clinchers
- Michelin Pro-Race, 23mm front and back, all surfaces
- Tufo Tubular clincher, special or pro 19mm, all surfaces
- Conti Grand Prix 3000, 20mm front 23mm rear, all surfaces
- Conti Supersonic, 20mm fron 20 mm rear, for perfectly clean roads
Be careful to get the tube in straight when using 20mm tires or you will get a pinch flat
Good luck

Also, if you are going to use 20mm tires, remember to have a rim narrow enough for them. A wider rim doesn’t seem to hold the bead as well as a narrower one, plus the profile of the tire isn’t right on a wide rim. An example of a wide rim is a Velocity rim or a FIR rim. An Alex 300 rim is a narrow rim and 20’s work well on them.
