Please help: Power Agent 7.4 & Serial USB Adapter

I recently purchased a wired powertap 2.4. The powertap came with a serial USB adapter. The person I purchased the powertap from was using the Training Peaks software and wasn’t have any trouble downloading his workouts. However, I have attempted to use the Power Agent 7.4 offered on the Saris Cycling Group website with no luck. The Power Agent 7.4 software do not seem recognize the serial USB adapter. My question is this, has anyone else experienced simular problems with this type of adapter & software? If so, what should I do?

IF, the serial adapter is one of the radioshack units, then do a quick search on google for radioshack serial adapter driver. ahhh, nevermind, I’ll do it for you:

I used this driver on the laptop install for Poweragent AND WKO, and its been problem free for over a year now.

Saris has one of the better customer service teams around, I would give them a call. I had an issue and called them and they fixed it no problem at all. Good luck

unfortunately it isnt an issue with their software (saris).
The new software is designed to be utilized with their new USB cable, so all they can do is sell you a new cable. Since the OP says he has the USB adapter that means he has an older serial cable for his PT. He could also look for an older version of Poweragent, and see if that corrects the problem, or at least assists in the solution, but he will still need to find an applicable driver for the USB adapter cable.
