Planet X Trispokes

What do people think of these?

Although I know nothing about the wheel itself, knowing how Planet-X operates I’m going to wager that it is a good deal especially for the $$. I would venture to say it’s probably not quite as aero as Heds, but for the price is definately worth it.

Right now I’m using Planet X 81/101 wheels but was thinking about switching next year to a tri spoke front and a disc wheel. I wish Planet X offered this package as that might be enough to tempt me to switch early. Does Planet X even have a rear disc?

Looks like a darn good deal to me. I hadn’t heard about these. Thanks for posting!

Well, starting on the trivial side I think the graphics are ugly and the marketing keeps me from taking them too serious, with japanese high “modulas” carbon, best in world! From there, again like a lot of PX stuff it seems they’re tubie only and even that is not clearly stated, just like there is nothing stated about the aerodynamics other than they’re unbelievable.

That being said, the trispoke is such an old but solid design it’s always suprised me that there are not more clones out there, I assumed that the patent that HED bought prevented that, but perhaps it has finally ran out.

I believe PX had a set of these at Triple T this past weekend. I did not see them, but, I know others were talking about them. They sound pretty sweet. I not believe a clincher version is in the works.

Regarding a PX disc:

I just saw this and was going to post the same thread. Looking at the picture on their US website, the spokes definitely have a slightly different shape compared to a HED3- I wonder what a wind tunnel profile on them would look like?

Here is an email I just received from Planet X today. So you can thank me later for the $50 I saved you.
