Just thinking to book ahead for next year…
Are there any hotels on or close to the lake that have suites with 2 bedrooms -and- a kitchen of some sort??

I’m at the Lake Placid Inn on Main St. 2 BR apartment with a kitchen and pull out sofa. Comfortable for a couple with 2 kids. Not bad. $600/night. 2 min walk to swim start.
Crowns Plaza has a variety of options that might suit.
Staying at The Haus on Mirror Lake this year. Good location. Good rooms, all with kitchens.

Thanks. I have a room booked there for now, it is two bedroom but no kitchen, 4 nights at about 700US per night. Ridiculous…
They had a two bedroom with a kitchen, but wanted min 5 night stay for it at almost 900US per night…
Crowne Plaza has suites - staying in one now that’s two rooms with one king and two queens (kitchen in the middle). Around ~600 per night. It’s right up the hill from the swim start too.
One lesson I have learned in this thread is that at those prices I will never visit Lake Placid.

This is why I stopped doign IMLP in 2009. I did go back in 2013, but it got to the point that I could fly my entire family to Europe do a Europe IM and come home for around the same cost as driving to LP

If you are travelling with kids and need a kitchen I would look at VRBO or AirBnB.
