My son’s hockey team frequently attends tournaments in the Toronto area. Are there any good places to ride while there? I went to High Park this past weekend, but would like to find some alternatives with longer loops.
Thanks!

I used to live in Brampton, which is a suburb that is adjacent to Toronto and Mississauga, so I didn’t do much riding downtown. If you can drive about half an hour west of High Park you will be on the edge of Mississauga and there are a lot of groups that ride from that area out to Milton and rattlesnake point conservation area. These roads are much more cycle friendly than anything you’ll find in Toronto. I think that Jean Paul at Remy Sport in Mississauga has a group ride on weekends that leaves from his shop. You can contact him to find out for sure at www.remysport.com. I’m sure there are other groups out there that can give you other areas to try (there is the well-known Donut ride every weekend but I’ve never been on that one).
Figures. I was in Mississauga this past weekend for the Terry Terrier Tournament. Our team, USA Eagles Bantam AA won. Thanks for the tip! I’ll gladly drive 1/2 hour for a good place to ride.
