Place to swim in NYC?

Hey everyone,

I recently just took a job in NYC, and I will be living in Brooklyn (Greenwood Heights for you locals).

I am looking for memberships to a gyms with a pool. Any ideas or suggestions on where to look? It doesn’t necessarily have to be in Brooklyn- it can be in Manhattan where my office is.

Asphalt Green is by far the best pool in the city though if you live in BK and work in Midtown, getting there (90th and York) is a hike. They also operate a second pool (25yd only) near Battery Park if you’re working downtown.

Equinox has two locations with 3 lane 25yd pools - Greenwich Ave and Columbus Circle. Membership is expensive though the pools are well maintained compared to most others in the city. Lane space is a problem at peak hours, especially if you try to do any sort of workout.
