I guess my dogs thought I was a pretty good father this year, so, they got me a GREAT Fathers Day gift! I posted once before that I have lusted after this bike for a while. Well, finally got it today!

Which C-dale and which LBS? There was a sweet fixie at Williamson Bicycle works in Madison. But, the Pista is nearly a work of art and, you know, the dogs wanted to pick it out, so …

I know, I know, I know … the front brake! I had them flip the wheel to the free wheel side and install the front break to make it much more condusive to commuting. I will try it for a while and see whether I can handle the fixed gear.
I just love the clean simplicity of this bike! White accents to bright chrome looks so nice.

I think I know who you are talking about. Yep, saw a 2007 Synpse Carbon today as well. Hot bike! This one was all black with pink accents. Had “Jodi” written all over it!
Know what you meant about feeling like you are being “unfaithful” to your R400. I brought the Pista down to meet the other girls. Gini (the Guru) and Geana (the Giant) won’t even look at me, let along speak to me. Even worse, LeAnne (the LeMond) flipped me off!

Took her out for a short ride today. Too much fun! No watch, no cycle computer, no cadence meter, nothing. I just “rode” like a little kid on his first bike. I haven’t just gone on a ride in years! I nearly forgot how much fun it is to JUST RIDE a bike!
I was totally bummed out about having to scrap the Horribly Hilly Hundred yesterday because of my hammy. But, this got me right outta that funk!

Cannondale makes a cool Single speed by the way, I cannot choose between the the Pista and the Cannondale or the Schwinn. Then there is the Specialized Langsers coming out at the end of the summer.
Too many bikes not enough $ or time to ride them!
If you are going to keep the front brake you will want to tick a dummy brake on the other side, it’s awkward and uncomfortable to ride with just the one on unless you are ALWAYS on the drops.
Nice bike though, I finally sold my Pista two weeks ago after a year of trying to find someone that wanted to swap for a smaller size as mine was too small. I misss it already!
