I’m doing my first HIM this year at Pigman in August. I’m interested in any RR’s or knowledge about the bike and run courses…and what sort of weather you encountered.

I did it last year for my first HIM as well. Weather was nothing to complain about. Wetsuit legal lake, warmed up during the rest of the race. Bike was not terrible, they have a elevation profile on the site I believe. Run is pretty darn flat, except in the park and coming back around 11-12 a larger hill into the park (which you go down out of the park, out-back course). No shade on the run. Good luck. I’ll be there this year if that tells you anything.
bike has some moderate rollers - depends on where you live and what kind of terrain you train on. Most of the rollers are in the back half of the ride
run is mostly flat - one large hill as previous poster said
usually is fairly hot, I have seen low 80’s to mid-90’s
I have also done it when the water was not wetsuit legal, but that was unusual
This is a nice race…did this last year…the swim is a nice…one loop…not a long run to transition…bike is wide open…run the same…no shade at all…if it is hot you will cook…great race though…well organized…well supported…that one hill gets you at the end of the run but otherwise very flat…
