Plain and simple: help me pick out my “outfits” for Ironman Arizona.
I want this to be as ridiculous as possible.
There are three “outfits” that need to be picked.
(1) swim: Ideally, I want to swim in a speedo (under the wetsuit of course), I’m looking for one that will surprise the wetsuit strippers when I pop out of the water.
(2) bike: I could carry the speedo onto the bike, but of course I’ll need to cover the torso here, gotta keep it legal. I need as many people to notice me as possible, this may be the only way I can make it through the 112 miles, it’s going to be a long day.
(3) run: I’m looking for a complete wardrobe change here, something that will get the crowd going on the run.
This will be my first Ironman and I want to make it as memorable as possible, help me out ST! Let’s have some fun with this!

*I want to stay legal, I don’t especially want to get DQ’d in my first IM. I also need some workability here, what I’m trying to say is something that won’t chafe, especially on the run (either the boys are strapped to the body, or they’re flowing freely), but other than that I’m game for anything!

It’s volunteer students from ASU. Nothing will surprise them.

See above. Plus, you’re only in front of the crowd for about 5 total miles.

Manning a volunteer station I saw a guy in red nose, rainbow wig, suspenders and clown makeup rocking the run (I mean seriously, like sub 7 pace). That’s your bar.
You want to surprise the strippers when you get out of the water then unless you go naked it won’t shock them.
When I volunteered as a lifeguard and stripper for IMAZ We had 3 people (2 women and 1 man) that were au naturale and too tired to tell us. You could male stripper thong it I guess.
For the bike I’ve seen some people in the superman, spider man jersey and shorts, not sure where they bought them.
The most laughs/fun I’ve ever gotten for a running outfit was buying an old cotton/poly suit from a thrift store then wearing that, under white mock shirt and tie and solid black Brooks Adrenaline running shoes for a 6 miler. I was tempted to carry a gel and water bottle in a briefcase but decided against it last minute.

If you are a guy I could think of one ‘surprise’ however the cold water might shrink its impact.

I saw a guy at IMC last year do the entire marathon dressed like Angus Young from AC/DC while carrying one of those Guitar Hero guitars.
