Just got the latest issue of Triathlete. Page 5 is a Specialized ad with Peter Reid looking WAY low on the bars. Like Bjorn style. Did he race like this at Vineman? Any thoughts?
Saw that…no idea…but am wondering why is Triathlete Magazine “reviewing” the 2005 Felt B-2? Ain’t it a little late for that?
I was all ready for some cool new stuff. I flip opened to that page and went…“Man that looks alot like the 2005”…low and behold, it was.

Ironically, Felt has an advertisement (p. 45) in same issue of their 2006 B2. It doesn’t look much different except for graphics and colors a little different and Vision bars instead of Profile Carbon-X.
What issue is this? Who is on the cover?
October issue
Desiree Ficker is on the cover
.
Smartass Coach is all over that!!!
I believe the ad (i saw it somewhere else) is just that, an ad. Here is a link to a front photo of Pete @ Half VM … i saw some form the side as well and it does not appear he is riding any different than he has the last couple years.

I’ve always thought that Peter Reid has ridden a lower drop than most of the other pro’s. Check this feature out from xtri from a few years ago:

#1 - Peter Reid
» One word… HOT!
» Trek ZR9000 frame
» Corima disc rear with 14 spoke mid-deep front
» Profile Design integrated bar system
» Check out those brakes!
» Dura Ace with bar end shifters
» Profile Design ACD fork
» Time Pedals
» Note that his seat is about 8 inches above his bars - aero
According to the above review 8 inches below equals roughly 20 cm.

He has long arms, even for his height.
Peter does ride lower in front than most pros, IMO. Always has.
Great pics of the bike from ShawnF. He asked me to share as he could not post them…
Both shots are from Vineman.

Are those S-Works Carbon cranks?
Thanks Rappstar. BTW, Tim said this was his ‘training bike’ and again hinted at something new and special for Kona. What you can’t see in this pic is that his seatpost is flipped around and the saddle is moved forward. Both of their drops are ridiculous when you see each of them standing next to their bikes.
I like that Power Bar jug.
Shawn has it on that one … you’ll see Tim on something Carbon (maybe similar in design to Lance’s bike?) … but steep.
How’s the the life as Iron-Sherpa going Shawn
My Best …
I’m hanging in there (barely) and she is doing really great, putting in the miles and the laps. As she does every morning, the countdown update today was 6 weeks, 3 days, I believe.
Rapp, I know what you mean. I actually recall holding up the magazine from different angles because he just looked way too low. I’m thinking he looks stretched out just for the photo op.
I think that maybe a re-badged Arundel (sp?) version of the old Campag aero bottle. It looks very similar.

That’s what I like about it. Retro-cool.
Do they really get a whole rack just for the two of them?
yes, they did
