A good one today!
Ironic. The system appears to be guilty until proven innocent- or, er, until proven guilty… or, whatever.
What I really wonder is if Di Luca will be cleared or sanctioned.
I caught that same issue… CONI’s appealing, saying that there’s no proof Petacchi wasn’t negligent when taking the substance. I don’t agree with holding anyone to that burden of proof.
The system is clearly broken. Just as the UCI ought to have financial recourse to punish dopers, some of these riders ought to have recourse for salary/money lost when the UCI turns out to be wrong. It just doesn’t make any sense.
However, the fact that we even care this much to pay attention is equally bizarre. Me included.
