Penticton Update

  1. We had our first production meeting for the live race day coverage at Subaru Ironman Canada yesterday. Paul Huddle will host from the finish line and I will be stationed out at about the 10 mile mark on the run with another live link. We are combining the reasources of Shaw Cable, North American Sports and Ironmanlive.com to bring you unprecedented live coverage of the 25th Anniversary IMC race this weekend. It should be great.

  2. Got out for a nice two hour spin on the bike with some of the boys from Cervelo yesterday afternoon. Thanks to John and Nenad for a great ride and a BIG thanks to Bike Barn - the best bike shop in the world - for the loaner road bike.

  3. Weather yesterday was the bomb! If the race had been yesterday it would have been perfect. Raceday is shaping up as ideal with cool temps in the morning and then highs of 20C/70C in the afternoon.

  4. Expo is up and running and was busy for a Wed afternoon. Should be packed today as registration opens up.

  5. I am off to the morning swim with the Demo Fleet of Nineteen wetsuits right now. I will be at the Peach for the next three mornings.

Oh man, stop stop stop, your making me feel sad.

I wish I was there, greatest race in N.A. Love the environment, the natural beauty, volunteers and of course race day.

Glad to hear your enjoying yourself.

I look forward to more IMC updates and reports.

It would be nice at some point, that NA IM coverage would catch up with the European version. I mean, I got spoiled watching the European championships. Don’t get me wrong… I do enjoy the live coverage, but something more than a stationary camera would be nice. Maybe put a camera in with the helicopter during the swim and bike, and one with the lead male and female runners like they do at Kona??? I know that could be a logistics nightmare and probably not in the budget, but one could hope now…

Thanks for the updates…

Logistically and cost wise there are some challenges with the real-time moving camera coverage on the course. We are working on it and hopefully will take some steps forward with what we are doing this year.

Thanks for the input.
