I have been training myself to pee on the bike. I’m getting good at it when I’m not wearing my bibs =o)
Question is I read the ‘if you relieve your self on course, you get DQ’d’ just about everywhere. But if you’re not peeing on the bike, you’re in trouble, no?
So do they just not want people hopping off the bike and squating? I’ve been pulling down the shorts and peeing into the dirt. Do I need to get used to wetting myself if I don’t want to stop?
Hey Zakk … We’d prefer you use a “porta potty” at one of the aid stations … as stated from the race program OR as stated on the race website:
10. Use the portable toilets that are available at the race sites and on the race course to relieve yourself. You will be disqualified if you are seen relieving yourself on the ground.
Doesn’t say anything about pissing yourself. The issue, as I understand it, is that people living on the course don’t want you peeing in their yards, on their fences, in their vineyards, etc. Pissing yourself on the bike, on the road? Who’s to say you didn’t just spill some gatorade?

guess I need to practice that way, too. it was much cleaner just pull the shorts down a bit.
Since they said that you will be disqualified if you pee on the course (not on yourself) are they going to provide more porto-potties? At w/flower I remember only seeing aid station with them.
We are in agreement on that. Unless you are competing for money, peeing in your pants is unacceptable. I’m still trying to understand the concept of peeing in your wetsuit. Many seem to find that exhilerating.
