PED's where is the line drawn?

I know there is always talk about athletes in every spectrum of sports using some sort of PED’s. I was just wondering, what is considered a PED? Everyone takes something-whether it is a protein shake, pills from GNC, noxplode, creatine, etc. I know that there are probably things that are also taken by others that are advertised in the mags (like what team astana takes-the pills). I was just wondering, why are some of these things okay to take, but other things are banned? Why do some things make the list of banned substances, and others don’t? Is there justification for what is banned and what isn’t?

just trying to sort out the mess. Like I said, everyone is taking something to help them recover, and be ready to perform better next time etc, but some things are illegal, and some are not. Any thoughts…

usually stuff is banned when its dangerous, or too effective

noxplode/creatine etc do nothing or close to it, and aren’t very dangerous, so no need to ban them

protein shakes are no different than food, just more convient.

steroids and epo, have profound effects, and can be dangerous

its purely a judgement call.

some sports don’t ban anything (worlds strongest man)

If you turn that question on its head…that ought to tell you a whole lot about the efficacy of the stuff that isn’t banned. But hey…if people want to keep paying $50 or $150 for bottles of snake oil…who am I to stop them?

I see where you are going. But what about the type of stuff that gets sold over the counter, but gets you banned 50 games from MLB (philles pitcher)
Does that crap do anything, or is it all marketing hype?

Watch this. It’s good.
