Can’t really help except to offer a bit of advice on endocrinologist. For some odd reason all endocrinologists are all lumped into the same group. We ran into this problem with our son and his diabetes. He was going to the recommended local pediatric endocrinologist. Turns out he was a thyroid rather then a pancreas endocrinologist. While he was competent with the diabetes aspect we didn’t feel we were getting what we wanted. Ended up finding a pediatric pancreatic endocrinologist and it was black and white difference.
All I’m saying is to make sure you have an endocrinologist that specializes in the proper organ, I would guess that means thyroid for your case.
I’ll definitely echo what Maurice said. See a hyper-specialist. Doctors won’t generally be shy or insulted if you ask them for a referral. That’s what we did when my son started having seizures. Ended up with a hell of a pediatric neurologist/epileptologist.
Talk to other parents that are in the same boat. Look up any advocacy groups and ask them for referrals. You’ll soon see the same names being mentioned.

or Pituitary. Sadly it is incredibly difficult to find the sub-specialists unless you are near a large teaching hospital or research facility. Depending on where you are located, you may be in luck or you may have to travel. CHOP, Cincinnati Children’s, St. Jude they do more than cancer, are the top peds facilities (I am sure there are others, I can think of one in Colorado…Denver Children’s?). I am sure they are out there, just have to do a lot of research to find the right one. Best resource may often times be another parent who is dealing with similar issues.
