Pedal Wars: Look Keo vs. Time RXS

I’ve seen a resounding number of strings praising the Time RXS pedal system. Over the last few months, I’ve been riding both the Time RXS and Look Keo before deciding which system I would purchase for all of my road bikes.

The issue I’ve had with the Keo is the cleat: it seems to wear faster than Time’s and the screws are a bit flimsy, i.e., I don’t feel the cleat integrates very well with the carbon sole of my shoe and I cannot position it as well as I can the Time. Plus there’s the stack height…a bit taller than the Time cleat.

The only issue I’ve had with the Time RXS is my SET bolt “ripped” right out of the pedal body the first time I tried to adjust it. I believe the carbon body that holds the bolt is too fragile to sustain repeated adjustment. I intend to address this issue with Time Sport, USA.

In the end, I guess I’m more impressed with the Time RXS given it’s relative consistent weight against the Keo line and the inherent flexibility with float, Q-factor, etc.—many options not currently available with the Keo.

Any thoughts?
