Pedal Revolution - what to do about cars

We need to start a revolution – The Pedal Revolution!!!

Time to fight back!!!

Try to get licence plates – bribe the police to get thier address – then blow up thier car.

OK – I am joking about blowing up thier car.

But we need to fight back – Call the police – call your City Gov., State Gov., Call the Legislature, Call the Chief of police, call the mayor.

Join a local bike advocacy group – get your local bike club involved in Polotics – GO TO CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS AND COMPLAIN.

AND – Follow the laws yourself!!! – No more blowing through stop signs and red lights, No more illegal turns – NO more riding three and four abreast and blocking traffic !!!

We demand Cars share the road with bicycles – but Bicycles need to share the road with Cars (and pedestrians)

Start a pedal revolution in your communitee TODAY!!!

Edit: – I added the naked teenage girls to try and get more people to read this thread.

Fight for your rights!!!

ummmm, did someone almost hit you with their car this morning?

I hear complaint after complaint about cars – yet cyclists don’t do anything about it.

Here is your opportunity to do something – even if it is to just donate some money – there are those who are out there fighting for more bike lanes – for laws protecting bicyclists – for education programs for drivers (you would be surprised at how uneducated some drivers are when it comes to sharing the road with bicyclists)

At least click on the links and check out some of the sites.

I like that you added this. I hate it when people blow through lights. It makes us look so bad.

I could not agree more!! I LOVE to ride, ride to work, ride to the store, ride to the library, ride to train (and I live in VT, not some big-ass city) and I actually feel the pain of automobile drivers sometimes. it is unreal to me how many of us simpy will bitch and bitch and bitch about “that car isn’t following the laws, i have every right to be out here, blah, blah, blah” and then run a red light right in front of Driver X who is sitting at the light. c’mon use some common sense! You think he’s going to be all excited when he catches you again or pissed that he just watched you blow a light?

I have this conversation over and over again with one of my teammates who simply will not stop at a red light (I’ll roll a stop sign, but I’ll do that in my car too, so…) I finally had to tell him, next time and I yank his uniform. last thing I want is one of our sponsors being called by some irate driver and telling them “hey some jackass wearing your name blew a light in front of me”.

We all demand respect, courtesy, safety, etc. from cars; it is our responsibility to show it as well. Do unto others and all that crap, and the world would be a hell of a lot nicer. Oooh warm fuzzies for everyone.

More people need to read this – and spread the word!!

Maybe I should rename the title “Naked bicycling rights” or “Female cyclists rights”
.

Whatcha gonna do when some car runs wild over you??

Ladies/women/girls (and dudes with long hair)

How many have you been harrassed by Boys in cars ??

I had a friend slapped in the ass while biking. She was very upset and unsettled by this.

bump – after this – if you complain that some car almost hit you – or some one yelled at you and flipped you off while biking.

Some one threw something at you as they drove by.

Or – there is no shoulder to ride upon, no bike paths - etc. etc. etc.

It is YOUR FAULT - because you didn’t do anything about it.

After the death in California – I thought I would bump this thread
.

No – we can’t bring someone back from the dead – we can’t undo an injury – but we can protect ourselves in the future.

Get active – get involved – promote bicycle safety.
