The sole of my Pearl Izumi road shoes delaminated last week, after two years of heavy riding. I thought that was reasonable wear from a pair of shoes, but I called Pearl Izumi’s distributor to check the warranty situation. The next day I had a new pair on my doorstep, with a return bag for my old shoes.
How good is that!
Last week I noticed a seam rip developing in my nearly-brand-new-but-discontinued 2004 Attack shorts.
A week later, I have a brand new 2005 pair. Which means they effectively paid me about $15 to take their shorts.
I LOVE warrantees like that.
re: reasonable wear - my shoes last five years, ten if you let me use duct tape to hold the sole together.
