Pearl Izumi

anyone used / using these shoes. Im interested in the Float. I currently use Nimbus but they are a bit

heavy for my liking. I need a good nuetral shoe as I have Uncompensated Rear Foot Varus condition so the

Nimbus work fine but are heavy for the distances I run.

Thanks

I use the Push, the now-discontinued Out (lightweight trainer), and the Float. All are good neutral shoes. Only the Out is lighter than the Nimbus to any significant degree.

If you wear 13 I’ll hook you up with a pair of Push’s, worn twice so you can try them out on the cheap. Seriously, they have been sitting in my closet, so pay for shipping and their yours . . . . if you have skis for feet like me.

unfortunately Im a 9. what don’t you like them or something?

i am now on my third pair of floats and they are a great training shoe. i even did IM in them. they breath well, control well and have plenty of cushioning. run lots!

I used to run in Nimbus, found the same thing, it felt like I had a huge Kleenex box on my feet. I weasr Mizuno Wave Creations now, much better. Bit expensive, not sure how the PI shoes stack up re: price, wear, weight, cushoning, etc.

Pearls sure look nice.

I bought 4 pair on e-bay for $19.99 each! Killer deal, 4 pairs for less than I would have paid for 1. I love em. They look great and are super comforetable. I did Ironman Arizona in one of the pairs.

thanks Im open to any shoe as long as they are as comfortable and lighter than Nimbus. It has to be nuetral shoe and there ain’t alot out there.

I’ve had both the Push & the trail version of them, because I got them for $19.99 at Campmor. I wouldn’t run in them because they are HARD, especially compared to the cushion of the Nimbus.

If you want a nimbus-like-fitting shoe with good cushion and very light weight, get the Asics Gel Flash. I ran the entire winter in them & they are an awesome shoe. Faris Al Sultan and Cam Widoff wear them to race IMs, they are a good light trainer - slash - race shoe for a big person.

Just too hard for my feet, and tight in the toe box. Otherwise, they are well-built and I especially liked the upper. Very comfortable.

Anyone want 13’s?

PM me to arrange shipping?

Thanks for the info, I wasn’t aware of that model. They look OK and as long as they are a true neutral shoe I shouldn’t have any prob’s, and they are way lighter. Still like the look of the PI, but its not all about the look…mostly but not all!

Sweet, that sounds good, I’m due for a new pair, I’ll check them out.

They are truly a neutral shoe - More nuetral than the Nimbus even since they have less support. Yeah the definite drawback of them is the looks - the “look-at-me-I’m-running” bright yellow is quite the choice… shawn from asics said a while back that theyr were changing colors, but they’ve only changed the Magic Racer away from the yellow as far as I know.

Im getting them in Blue, instead of yellow as per the website. Spoke to Asics Australia and Blue is the new colour for the Flash DS…not great, but much better than the yellow.

you think the ladies is bright…check out the men’s “I got these shoes so no one will knick em” Forster Tri shoe by Asics…WOW!!!

You would only wear a pair of these if you stood a good chance of winning!!!
